Ginger Storm
Ginger Storm was given its name because of the intense flavour in the cocktail, particularly from the ginger beer. The mix, with the dry curaçao, is like a flavour explosion when you take the first sip. The lemon juice and bitters make this a deliciously sour drink, with a hint of sweetness added from the dash of ginger beer. Warmed coffee beans and rosemary make unusual garnishes but ensure that this drink is perfect for winter evenings.
50ml (2fl oz) Plantation 3 Stars Artisanal Rum
25ml (5 tsp) fresh lemon juice
25ml (5 tsp) Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, or Grand Marnier
3 dashes of The Bitter Truth Jerry Thomas’ Own Decanter Bitters, or Angostura Bitters
10ml (2 tsp) Fever-Tree Ginger Beer
Rosemary sprig, to garnish
Warmed coffee beans, to garnish
Mix all the ingredients except the ginger beer in a cocktail shaker, then add the ginger beer and mix with a bar spoon. Pour into a rocks glass over crushed ice. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and some warmed coffee beans.
