Top Five Mulled Wines

Mulled Wine

Looking for the perfect winter warmer? This week, we’re giving you something to mull over with our top five mulled wines and ciders.

1. Heston Spiced Mulled Cider £5.10
The signature taste of this mulled cider is created by ageing the cider in oak vats filled with ginger, nutmeg, clove and fresh cinnamon. The result is a delicious sweet apple pie flavour balanced with a hint of ginger. Although great served warm, this drink also works surprisingly well over ice.

2. Saturnus 1893 Vinglögg £9.00
You’re in safe hands with Saturnus, this family business have been providing Sweden with mulled wine since the 1890s. Their secret recipe combines a smooth, mellow base with a ginger punch. Create a proper Scandi experience by serving it hot with a sprinkling of raisins and flaked almonds.

3. Lindisfarne Mulled Wine £8.05
Who wouldn’t like to try mulled wine made by monks? Generously spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon, this citrus-based wine is the perfect drink to chase away winter’s chill.

4. Crabbies Mulled Ginger Wine £6.98
Natural ginger, spices and citrus fruits are blended with British Ruby and Crabbie’s Ginger Wine to create a rich, warming drink. Make sure to save some to be enjoyed the ‘Crabbie’s way’ – pouring it over mince pies to create a unique winter dessert.

5. Tesco Mulled Wine £3.50
If you’re wary of buying bottled mulled wine, rather than making it from scratch, we recommend starting with this bottle from Tesco. Spiced with cloves, cinnamon and oranges, its tangy sweetness is bound to leave you feeling festive.
